Once you feel good about your tone with the mouthpiece alone, you are ready to assemble the entire flute.
When you handle your flute, take care not to put pressure on the keys. It’s best to touch only the tube of the flute (head joint and the ends of the body and foot joints). Your flute’s keywork is delicate and can be bent out of shape if care is not taken.
The blow hole of your head joint should line up with the keys on the body of the flute as shown to the right.
The bar of the footjoint should be centered with the keys on the body as shown below.
With your flute assebled correctly, you are ready to learn how to hold the flute!
